Britannia Row, once home to Pink Floyd’s iconic recording studios, where seminal albums such as The Wall and Animals were produced, has since been decommissioned and stripped back to shell and core in anticipation of commercial or residential redevelopment that never materialised.
The building has remained vacant for many years. Designcubed were commissioned to prepare a feasibility study exploring how the interior could be re‑imagined and how the overall volume could be increased to accommodate a landmark Music Recording Studios and Events facility, restoring the site’s cultural significance and unlocking its dormant potential.
The feasibility study included careful consideration of the technical / acoustic and adjacency requirements for high-end Music Studios and Live Rooms
An oversized goods-lift, together with an under-croft goods yard sized for full size articulated vehicles, is included in the proposals to allow rapid access for large instruments and equipment between sessions / events.
