The design concept utilises existing topography in the creation of a natural gravity flow winery production facility. The building is submerged into the contours of the hillside to reduce visual impact and maximise ground thermal coupling to create a cool and stable environment for maturing high quality wines.
The terracing of the winery into the site creates a gravity flow between the presses, tanks, barrels, etc. minimising energy use (pumps), while the gentler transfer of liquid is said to improve the finished wine.

An integrated two bedroom apartment for a vineyard member of staff.
Hard standing for: Grape Receival / Pressing; Goods In / Dispatch; and car parking.
