Designcubed were appointed to reappraise an existing planning consent for the refurbishment and height increase of an industrial storage unit in Chelmsford. We developed a series of design options for a rationalised façade that seamlessly integrated the office accommodation within the overall composition.
Working in close collaboration with the contractor, G E Construct, throughout construction, we prepared detailed material schedules and cut‑lists for the cladding and roof systems—eliminating the need for on‑site modification and ensuring efficient installation.
The slot windows to the office spaces were carefully coordinated with the sinusoidal cladding profile and spaced to ensure each opening aligned with the factory‑supplied sheet widths.
