Steel & Vines is a proof‑of‑concept design for a large‑scale industrial winery and wine storage facility on the outskirts of a UK city. Featuring a temperature‑controlled underground cellar, visitor vineyard, tasting rooms, and restaurant, the project integrates sustainable earthworks, automated production, and panoramic countryside views to create a landmark in modern winemaking architecture.
The soil which is excavated to form the cellar is reused to form a south‑facing slope, creating ideal conditions for the visitor vineyard. This sustainable approach not only reduces waste but the vines then lead naturally to the first‑floor tasting rooms and restaurant, where guests enjoy panoramic views across the vineyard to the countryside beyond.
